"It's getting hot in herrre"- Southern India

Thinking of Nelly right about now- i want to take off "all my clothes." but i can't. We have arrived in Southern India. I got off the train 3 days ago, flew to Delhi, met my beloved son and we hopped a plane to Chennai. Southern India is so beautiful- we have a car and a driver so we are covering lots of Tamil Nadu right now- rice fields, salt fields, cows, goats, backwaters and temples everywhere- lots more on that coming up.

This was our first stop was at the beach(thank God!)not too far from Chennia- It's place called Fisherman's Cove- a little piece of heaven, so lush and beautiful. Mike decided we should get up and watch the sunrise the first morning and we did. (i love that boy.) We were taking so many pictures of the sun that morning, that a little old man came by and said, "your country, no sun?" We laughed cause it must have seemed that way. We just felt so blessed to be sitting on a beach on the Bay of Bengal in plush and peaceful surroundings, mom and son watching the sunrise together.

The adventurous son also talked me into going out onto the bay with a local fisherman with whom the hotel's lifeguard hooked us up. (we found out later that they were brothers-everybody here is some body's cousin or brother by the way- that's just how it is in a small fishing town. The "boat" consisted of 6 (count them 6) pieces of wood that are held together at the front and back with some rope and a motor on the back that is tied on with some more string. About 2 other dudes (lesser paid cousins no doubt) help push you out to the water and then away you go, through the waves standing up!! I have to admit after a few moments of panic and terror, it was really fun and cool; we jumped of the "boat" and swam a while. Heaven!
