["I've been through the desert on a horse with no name,
It felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la"]
I walked across a desert on a camel as the sun was setting.
Need I say more?
Okay, I guess I will say a little more. It was about 40 minutes outside of Jaisalmer and it was fabulous. By the way, camels are much easier to ride than elephants, in case you wanted to know.
We ate outside under the stars on the rooftop of some lovely building after the ride. There were lots of other people and camels there too; folks were staying in tents and on safari. It was so cool!
I also danced that night with a large group from the train. We were led by two Indian dancers who made us all look horribly uncoordinated and stiff. Boy they can move their bodies. I think it's all about the bells and the bracelets. Folks thought I did a good job dancing with these ladies, but I was thinking I wish I had paid better attention when Susanne and Leslie were teaching us to belly dance. I also thought if only i had all those bangles on my arm, i am sure i could look sexier when i danced. I did my best and applied the right attitude. I am sure there are some rather damning pictures of it all, but hopefully they will not show up on any one's blog.
